Tink And Stitch Needle Book Pattern

I am so excited to share this adorable needle book pattern by my friend Cheri.  I met Cheri at the retreat I went to in Vermont and she is such a talented, amazing woman.  I love everything she makes.  This pattern was no exception!

The pattern is easy to understand.  It has great step by step pictures that help if you need it.  And it is one of those projects where you can put as much or as little detail into as you'd like.  The hardest part for me was trying to figure out what fabric I wanted to use and how many details I wanted to add.

I have some Country Girls fabric from Tasha Noel that I love as much today as I did when it came out a few years ago.  So I chose to use her patchwork "cheater" fabric for the outside of the book.  I quilted it with both white and red DMC perle cotton #8 and I love that it really takes away from the fact that it's not actually pieced!  Hand quilting always, always adds the perfect touch in my opinion!

The inside of the book is super easy to make; Cheri's pattern has the exact layout for where to put all the little details.  She also gives great instructions on sewing on the binding.    You could always make this little book without the binding, but it is such a simple step and honestly it adds so much.

I also finished the binding with some hand quilting around the whole book.  That just clinched it for me... binding is a must!

Oh and an added little selvedge tag.  You must, you must!!

What I like about this needle book is that it is a really nice size.  Most needle books are quite small and basically hold needles and pins.  I love that this one can hold little scissors, a bit of thread, Clover clips, pins and needles, a fabric marking pen, etc.. !  I really filled mine up to test it and see how much it would actually hold!

It is also a great design with the ribbon closure that wraps around the book.  It closes it up very nicely.  I added the button on the front for fun and I like how I can wrap the ribbon around the button to hold it even more securely.

I highly recommend this pattern.  It is such a fun one!  My favorite part was adding fun little details.  And of course that was made very easy with the fabric I chose!

The Tink and Stitch Needle Book pattern releases this Friday and you can find it in Cheri's Etsy shop by clicking here.    Be sure to follow Cheri on Instagram @tinkerellen.  She has the most wonderful IG feed.   It inspires me always!

Happy sewing friends!
