My Favorite Salt Soak!

A little over a year ago when I started fitness classes, I really enjoyed coming home and soaking in a tub of hot water to relax the muscles and help me sleep!  Sometimes I would throw in some Epsom Salt if I was really sore but never knew for sure if it really helped.

Then I read an article about a great combination of salts and baking soda that are supposed to really help soreness.  Oh my word, I feel like it really makes such a difference in how I feel the next day if I get a good soak the night before.

At Christmas time I made some to share with some of the gals at the gym that have been such a help and encouragement to me this year.  I shared a picture on my Instagram account and had so many people ask for the "recipe" so here it is!!!

You will need:

Epsom Salt (just the plain stuff, no scents added)
Himalayan Sea Salt
Baking Soda
Essential Oil of your choice (my favorites are lavender and citrus)

In a large glass mixing bowl place:

4 cups Epsom Salt
1 cup Himalayan Sea Salt
1 cup Baking Soda
20 drops of Essential Oil

Mix together completely using a wooden spoon, being sure to break up any of the Epsom Salt chunks.  Store in a glass container with a lid to keep moisture out.  Use 1/2 cup in a hot bath!

I pour mine into a glass canister and keep it right in my bathroom!  It's handy and also pretty!

These make the greatest gifts.  I used mine for Holiday gifts but you can make a tag for any occasion and tie the tag on with a ribbon.   Such a fun gift to give!

Happy Soaking!
