Hello Friends! I hope you are doing well!
I was so happy to be asked to join other amazing Makers for this blog tour showcasing this beautiful new line of fabric by Poppie Cotton called Cherished Moments.
I so enjoyed sewing with this fabric. Read ahead to see what I made!
When I first put my hands on this fabric, I knew immediately it would be precious for a baby girl! Luckily I have a young friend that is expecting a baby girl!
I wanted to be able to use all the pinks and greens in this line and I knew that patchwork would probably showcase it the best. I remembered a sweet baby quilt pattern by Amy at Diary Of A Quilter called Lattice Baby Quilt. She has a great tutorial for the quilt here.
There is nothing I love better in a quilt than simple patchwork. And this pattern is so easy.
And the fact that this is laid out on the diagonal really gives it great interest. I love how it came out!
I chose to do some very simple straight line machine quilting and it came out great. It was fast and simple.
I'm so happy with how the little quilt came out.
I also decided to use up the rest of the scraps and make a Divided Basket to hold diapers, wet wipes and other necessary supplies that a mommy might want to keep handy in other rooms of the house instead of the baby room.
I think it is always nice to have a little diaper supply caddy in the living room! And this Divided Basket pattern by Noodlehead was absolutely perfect for this.
I really enjoyed doing some "quilt as you go" of my scraps for the front pocket of the basket. It was a fun way to use up scraps.
For the back of the basket I just pieced simple patchwork squares.
I think this quilt and basket make the best baby gift and I'm super excited to gift it to my friend.
I loved sewing with Cherished Memories fabric. Once again I feel that the gals at Poppie Cotton have designed such amazing fabric and I'm so honored to be asked to sew with it.
Sweet fabric and a darling project. I actually made my great-niece a blanket, but it is not as cute as this wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt and basket are so cute. Love the soft colours - and yes, a basket is one of the handiest things alongside the quilt. Beautiful gift!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the fabric and pattern for the baby quilt and the bag. She's a lucky little girl!
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful!!! She is so fortunate to have you as a friend!! Just lovely!!!
