Crochet Dish Cloths! {A Giveaway AND A Free Pattern!}

Friday, December 6, 2019

If you read my blog post here, you know that I do not consider myself a crocheter (is that even a word?) and all I really know how to crochet are dishcloths!  But let me tell you what, I can whip out the dishcloths and I love the pattern that I have perfected!

I always consider it such a compliment to be asked to sew with a Designer's fabric.  And Gingham Farmhouse by Poppie Cotton was such a treat.

I was honored to be asked by Erin Hentzel, the Author of the new book, Me & My 18" Doll, if I would like to review her book and share a project here on my blog.    I'm always excited to sew for Jillian and Rosetta's collection of American Girl Dolls so of course I said yes.

My Favorite Quilt!

Sunday, August 4, 2019

In June I had the most awesome trip to Vermont where I met up with 21 other special ladies for a sewing retreat.  I still can't believe what a special time it was and I think almost daily about these ladies and what an amazing experience it was for me.  I wrote a blog post about it where I blog for MaryJanesFarm magazine.  You can read all about it there by clicking here

But what I'd like to share with you today is the quilt that I worked on while I was in Vermont!

Sweetest Girls! {Wanderings Fabric Blog Tour}

I had the amazing privilege of sewing with the Wanderings Fabric collection by Poppie Cotton.   I love this fabric collection.  The colors are such beautiful blues and pinks.  I could never decide which ones were my favorite.  I also love the low volume prints in the collection too.

Loyal Heights Blog Tour {And A Giveaway!}

Tuesday, May 28, 2019

Hello Friends!

A couple years ago Jera of Quilting In The Rain contacted me about sewing with her latest fabric line to showcase it in a blog post.  I eagerly accepted.  And now, a couple years later I've had the privilege of helping to showcase two of her other fabric collections by sewing for her booth at Quilt Market.  Her latest collection, Loyal Heights, was debuted at Quilt Market in the Fall and I was so happy to have a little part in sewing for her booth.  I'm super excited to be in her blog tour for that project - as well as a couple other things I made!

I introduce you to Loyal Heights Fabric designed by Jera Brandvig and manufactured by Lecien Fabrics.

Springy, Scrappy Log Cabin Quilt Block!

Sunday, March 31, 2019

I've mentioned in a blog post last year (here) about a quilt block group that I'm in.  There are 11 of us in the group and each month one of us has a turn to choose the quilt block we would like everyone to make for us!  Last year I had the idea that I wanted to make a scrappy picnic quilt so I asked everyone to make a Courthouse Steps quilt block.  I need about 10 more quilt blocks to make the size quilt I want, so this year I'm adding to that pile of blocks!  I've requested a scrappy Log Cabin this time as they will go fantastic together!

ANNOUNCING! {Mini Quilt Class}

Saturday, January 19, 2019

There's something I've been yearning do for some time now.  It's something that I feel there is a need for in the online sewing community and something that really speaks to me as a Gram and as a Maker.   I want to offer an online beginner quilting class especially geared to children and beginner adults.

My Favorite Salt Soak!

Monday, January 7, 2019

A little over a year ago when I started fitness classes, I really enjoyed coming home and soaking in a tub of hot water to relax the muscles and help me sleep!  Sometimes I would throw in some Epsom Salt if I was really sore but never knew for sure if it really helped.
